Richman Greer and Eight of its Attorneys Honored by the 2012 South Florida Legal Guide

Miami and West Palm Beach, FL – The 2012 South Florida Legal Guide, an annual publication listing Top Lawyers and Top Law Firms in South Florida, both in private and governmental practice, has recognized Richman Greer, P.A. as a Top Law Firm, and also honored eight of its individual attorneys. Richman Greer, P.A., is a Miami and West Palm Beach law firm offering a wide range of litigation and business-related legal services.

The South Florida Legal Guide Top Lawyers section recognizes attorneys who have been in practice for at least 15 years. The Top Up and Comers section recognizes exceptional attorneys under the age of 40.

Bringing positive recognition to attorneys deemed noteworthy by their peers, the 2012 South Florida Legal Guide named six Shareholders - John M. Brumbaugh, Bruce A. Christensen, Manuel Garcia-Linares, Alan G. Greer, Gerald F. Richman and Mark Romance – among the Top Attorneys of South Florida. Shareholders Michael Napoleone and Lyle E. Shapiro were named Top Up and Comers.

John M. Brumbaugh, a Board Certified attorney in Civil Trial Law, concentrates his practice in commercial litigation. Brumbaugh is a former Chair of the Florida Board of Legal Specialization and Education, and served as Chair of the ABA Standing Committee on Specialization. Brumbaugh is also a past President of the Two Hundred Club of Greater Miami, where he also served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Bruce A. Christensen concentrates his practice in family law, divorce and domestic relations. A Board Certified attorney in Marital and Family Law, Christensen serves on the Board of Managers of the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

Manuel A. Garcia-Linares practices primarily in the areas of commercial and class action litigation as well as corporate and transactional matters. Garcia-Linares is the current Chairman and President of the Florida Association of Managing Partners, immediate past president of the Cuban American Bar Association, President of the Cuban American Bar Association Foundation and Vice Chairman of the City of Coral Gables Parknership Committee and Vice Chairman of the City of Coral Gables Retirement Board.  

Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Business Litigation, Alan G. Greer concentrates his practice in the areas of civil commercial litigation. A Coral Gables resident, Greer is the past president of the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society. In 2010, he was named to the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America, and in 2008, he was named The Florida Bar Certified Lawyer of the Year receiving the Justice Harry Lee Anstead Award.

Gerald F. Richman, Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Business Litigation, is one of South Florida’s leading complex commercial litigation law practitioners. He concentrates his practice in the areas of antitrust, securities, contracts, construction, federal agency matters, banking, civil RICO, professional liability, consumer, employment and civil rights, probate litigation and class action issues. In 2011, Richman received the Learned Hand Award from the American Jewish Committee of Palm Beach County in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the community, legal excellence and career accomplishments. He was also honored in 2011 with the National Masters in Trial Award from the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) recognizing his efforts in promoting jury trials worldwide. He is the current Chairman of the Fourth District Court of Appeal Nominating Commission, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Commission, past president of the Palm Beach County Chapter of ABOTA and a former president of The Florida Bar.

Shareholder Mark A. Romance concentrates his practice in commercial and complex litigation. Romance also has significant experience in real estate, product liability defense, business torts, trademark, trade secret and non-compete related litigation. A past president of The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division, he currently serves as a member of Florida's Eleventh Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, as a member of the Florida Bar Rules of Judicial Administration Committee, and is a past Chair of the Florida Bar Civil Procedure Rules Committee.

Shareholder Michael J. Napoleone maintains a practice in business and commercial litigation with an emphasis on contractual disputes, business dissolutions, non-competition agreements, and fraudulent transfers. An AV-rated attorney, Napoleone is also a skilled appellate lawyer who has argued appeals in both State and Federal Courts. He is the immediate past president of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, a past chair of its committees on Professionalism and Diversity and a member of The Florida Bar’s Committee on Judicial Independence.

Shareholder Lyle E. Shapiro maintains a diverse civil trial practice with an emphasis on complex commercial litigation, business torts, commercial landlord/ tenant litigation, non-compete and trade secret litigation, construction litigation and products liability litigation. He currently serves as a member of the Dade County and American Bar Associations. Since 2007, Shapiro has led a fundraising effort to help save the Miami-Dade County Law Library.
